Using prospects
What prospects are for
Prospects are designed for 1:1 outreach.
Instead of sending a generic candidate pack link, you can generate a dedicated /p/... link for one specific person. This lets you:
- keep the experience personalized
- see whether the candidate opened the link
- understand if they showed interest before they apply
- keep the conversion history once they become an applicant
When to use a prospect link
Use a prospect link when you are reaching out to a specific person and want visibility on their engagement.
Typical cases:
- outbound sourcing on LinkedIn
- follow-up after a recruiter conversation
- re-engaging a warm candidate
- sharing a role privately before the public push
When to use a simple link instead
Use the classic personalized link like /packs/demo?name=Jane when you want something lighter and repeatable.
This is still useful for:
- fast mass outreach
- lightweight personalization
- situations where you do not need engagement tracking
What the statuses mean
Created: the link was generated, but not opened yetVisited: the candidate opened the personalized linkInterested: the candidate clicked into the interested flowDeclined: the candidate explicitly declinedApplied: the prospect converted into an applicantExpired: the personalized link expired before conversion
Why this matters
Prospects help you distinguish between:
- links that were sent
- links that were actually seen
- candidates who engaged
- candidates who converted
That makes follow-up more informed and helps you understand whether the issue is the outreach, the content of the pack, or the role itself.
